“Every time I volunteer, my heart feels so full,” beams Kim, right before paying her weekly visit to patients at our Civic Campus.

As a volunteer with March of Dimes Canada’s After Stroke Hospital Peer Connections program at The Ottawa Hospital, Kim visits patients in hospital who have experienced a recent stroke. With warmth and empathy, she offers encouragement and emotional support, helping to make the recovery journey a little easier. Read more about Kim and the Peer Connections Program here.

March of Dimes Canada’s After Stroke program provides stroke survivors and their families with the support they need to live their best lives.

This June, the CRSN Team will be walking in the Step up for Stroke event to support After Stroke. We'd love for you to cheer on our team The Stroke Striders, or event start your own team! This year’s theme is all about doing 100 things to show support for the over 100,000 Canadians affected by stroke every year. You can walk 100 steps a day, write 100 kind notes, or bake 100 cookies - every little bit helps to make a big difference!
